The Hella Mega Tour, featuring Green Day, Weezer, and Fallout Boy, has just recently swept across the globe and many fans have been looking for their own chance to experience what the tour has to offer. Many of the concerts have already passed, but with many more to come in the following year, it is important to know what you are getting into if you are purchasing tickets. Based on my own personal experience at the Columbus and Pittsburgh shows, there are quite a few things you might need to keep in mind for The Hella Mega Tour.

1. Be sure to get to the venue early
This fact is usually a no-brainer when it comes to most concerts, but in the case of The Hella Mega Tour, it is incredibly important to not be late. The lines for things such as concessions, merchandise, and even bathrooms can be absurdly long depending on what time you arrive. This rule is especially important when it comes to merchandise. If you are planning on buying a poster or t-shirt, you should keep in mind that certain items have a limited supply. with all of this considered, try to get in lines early and you won't regret it!

2. Don't Miss the opener
If you are able to get past the lines early and get everything you need from merch stands and concessions, you should absolutely listen to the opener of The Hella Mega Tour, The Interrupters. With a fusion of ska and punk rock, The Interrupters have a unique sound that is definitely worth hearing. Aimee Interrupter, the frontwoman for the band, does a phenomenal job engaging the crowd through their set with her lively personality. Furthermore, many of their songs are very easy to sing along to even if you don't know the words. Their songs "A Friend Like Me", "Take Back The Power", and "Gave You Everything" have anthem-like qualities which makes them irresistible to sing along with. Overall, The Interrupters have a great stage presence and are an absolute joy to watch play, so don't miss your chance to see their set!

3. Don't be afraid of crowd interaction
One of the most prominent qualities you will find from each band on The Hella Mega Tour would definitely be the crowd interactions they all promote. From chants to claps to call and response, you will hardly find yourself not encountering some form of crowd interaction at The Hella Mega Tour. Many of the bands, especially Green Day, value crowd interaction greatly and try to incorporate it as much as possible into their sets. Some of the songs featured in the tour were added purely to have the audience sing along or chant to. For example, at the beginning of Green Day's set, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen was played which made nearly everyone in the audience sing along. All this being said, prepare yourself for lots of singing, chanting, and clapping along with the bands on The Hella Mega Tour because it can definitely overwhelm you if you aren't ready.

4. Longer than you might think
Although this point may come off as pretty obvious, The Hella Mega Tour is very long with nearly six hours of live music. This point becomes increasingly more important if you are going to see a specific band. For example, Green Day (being the main event for the tour) is the last band featured in concert and fans will have to wait about four hours to see them. Furthermore, Weezer and Fall Out boy both had hour long sets while Green Day had an hour and forty-five minute long set with stage set up taking about half an hour in-between each band. Keeping this all in mind, fans attending the concert should be aware of how long the concert will actually be.

5. No matter what, have fun
|
Although everything may seem so daunting with the crowd sizes, loud music, and plenty of crowd interaction, please just try to have the most fun you can while attending The Hella Mega Tour. It may seem scary to be around so many people, especially after such a hectic year of quarantine, but just remember to enjoy the music and embrace the fact that concerts can now exist again! If this concert is your first post-quarantine, you may be a bit hesitant to attend with all of those factors considered. However, as long as you feel as safe and comfortable as you can be, try to make the most memories with everyone around you and with all of the musicians featured on The Hella Mega Tour.
